Illinois House Votes to Lower Legal Age for Tattoos

Illinois House Votes to Lower Legal Age for Tattoos to 18

The House voted 91-24 to lower the age for getting a legal tattoo from 21 to 18. The vote overturned the veto of Governor Rod Blagojevich, who believes that kids who are responsible enough to man tanks and planes and lay down their young lives in answer to their nation's call are somehow not mature or rationally competent to make a decision regarding a personal tattoo. As silly as this sounds, if we were to pursue this logic, then the legal drinking age would be lowered nationally to 18, but that's another article. Until the Senate passes the proposal, kids younger than 21 will require parental consent.
