Space Coast Harley-Davidson Opens in Palm Bay

Palm Bay- From Florida Today- Nov.12, 2005. Space Coast Harley Davidson opened its new 55,000 sq. ft facility recently in Palm Bay. While the story discusses the growth in motorcycling in the US and in female participation, a side note is the trend in Harley dealerships toward superstores. Across the country in the past few years, new facilities have grown to include hotel space and restaurants in addition to vast new space dedicated to clothing, parts and accessories. According to HD's numbers, and this is a phenomenon unique to Harley and one that underscores the power of the HD community, approximately half of annual profits are attributable to non-motorcycle sales. That means the folks who buy Harleys, and a lot who aspire to Harley ownership, purchase a lot of Harley-logo stuff.

Lets' hope that the myth of the "completely built and assembled in the US, from American-made parts" motorcycle continues to work for The Motor Company.
