A Mayor on a Vespa, and Other Ways to Set Energy Examples
John Hickenlooper distinguished himself from the pack of mayoral candidates a few years ago by incorporating images of the tall lanky man buzzing around Denver on the back of a tiny red Vespa. He went on to win the election and has been one of the more popular mayors in recent Denver history.
The red scooter, that disappeared right after the election, is back, as the mayor takes his energy conservation message on the road.
T.R. Reid discusses how elected leaders around the country have responded to the surging energy prices this year.
